The positives of a push-fit design

Water coolers can prove to be essential to our daily lives, but without the right components they cannot function to their fullest potential. There is no use having a system in place if it is unable to meet the needs of consumers. Supplying a wide collection of water cooler accessories, including the likes of angle stop and shut off valves, equal straight connectors, and PTF tape, we have everything that one needs to utilise them properly.

Shut off valves are some of the most important utensils in our inventory and the ones that we supply are of a push-fit design. Said designs all come with a similar interior composition that enables them to manufacture a watertight seal after being introduced to a pipe. There is a multitude of reasons as to why people opt for push-fit models, and we are going to go through some of them here.

The principal advantage to using a push-fit fitting is most definitely the connection speeds. During emergencies, one is able to rapidly repair or cap their piping by merely pushing on their fitting. If you’re not a fan of glue, unions, clamps, or soldering work, then the push-fits have you covered as they don’t require any of the above.

Your pipes don’t have to be 100% dry whilst using fittings of this calibre either. This makes a huge difference from PVC and CPVC, as they must be completely dry prior to solvent gluing. The same can be said for copper piping; if it is not completely dry when you solder the seal could be flawed.

At Glacier Water Systems, the shut off valves that we stock are made of polypropylene and only require a 1/4 turn for opening and closing. The simplistic push-fit technology forgoes the demand for tools, making our components very cost effective, perfect for those who are on a limited budget.
