The Benefits

According to the CBI:
UK economy lost 160 million working days to absence in 2012
Minor illnesses remaining the most common cause of absence
At Glacier Water Systems, we want to promote wellness and prevent ill health by advocating the importance of drinking water in the workplace.

Although there is no current agreement about how much water employees should drink, it is estimated water intake should average at 2.2 litres per day. However, it should be noted that the working environment will change the amount of water intake, for example, a hot working environment will increase demand for drinking water.

Benefits of good hydration in employees:

  • Can prevent and relieve headaches
  • Increase mental performance
  • Improve hand eye coordination
  • Decrease risk of chronic diseases

Drinking water can also help alleviate:

  • Light-headedness
  • Dry mouth, eyes and throat
  • Tiredness
  • High body temperature
  • Fatigue

Giving employees access to clean drinking water, free from contaminants can also help to prevent more serious conditions:

  • Different forms of cancer including breast cancer
  • Kidney and bladder stones
  • Coronary heart disease
  • Urinary tract infections
